Would it be possible to use a lens or a mirror to focus light onto a solar panel in order to product in more efficient?
And is something like this already one used?
It was just a thought and I haven't spent much time on it, but I figured I'd ask.

Im going to expand the solar panel array larger towards the end of the year or early next year, this was just the first set of panels i have bought and it will be more of a backup for when or if the generator no longer has gas.

Solar panel voltages will vary with the amount of sunlight shining on the panel. That is why a solar panel is rated at a much higher voltage than the battery. This gives you a larger range of charging during most sunlight conditions.

you had a guest manofmanythings? out at the property the other day. I saw the 90 watt solar panel on roof of his Jeep and liked the idea. I use one of those Volkswagen 5 watt panels to keep my sailboats house battery topped up when I am away. The much larger panel he has seems to a fair amount of power in a pinch.

I know a lot of people have solar on their RVs... But is there anyone else putting solar on their car/truck.

Heard something today on DR Karl on JJJ about the development going into solar panels.. apparently someone come up with the idea of connecting cells in a RAID Redundant Array of Independent Disks style.

Apparently if you have a panel, and one corner of it is shaded, it effects the whole panel as the cells rely on each other, so Hooking each cell in a RAID style Configuration would allow panels to be more effective.

There was also some talk about cooling panels to make them more efficient, which was brought up by someone asking if you were to point a mirror at a panel would it give it double the efficiency, while in theory it would work however the panel would be retarded by the extra heat there for becoming less efficient...

just somthing i heard
